Leaving his Island home Morobe, Papua New Guinea to attend high school in America, he experienced major culture shock, which lead him to get involved in crime and gangs, and at 19 years old, was sentenced to years in the penitentiary for armed robbery. In prison O-Shen nurtured his talent in freestyle rap, and playing the drums.

After prison in America he returned to the islands to rise to iconic status among the island people as their musical ambassador. O-Shen is a famous musical artist in Hawaii, where he now resides.
